Bethany Hallam, Liv Bennett, and Tom Duerr to be sworn in for Allegheny County Council

To all Ikers, Sierra Club members, environmental activists, mass transit advocates, and concerned citizens:

On Thursday, January 2, 2020, at 05:00 pm – 06:00 p.m. ET, Bethany Hallam (at-large), Liv Bennett (District 13), and Tom Duerr (District 5) will be sworn in as members of Allegheny County Council.

The ceremony will take place at the Allegheny County Courthouse (436 Grant Street
Pittsburgh, PA  15219) in the Gold Room (4th Floor).

PLEASE ATTEND THEIR SWEARING IN! Show your support, and let Allegheny County Executive Rich Fitzgerald and other County Council members know they are dealing with an ARMY of supporters for these efforts.

If you can, get on the speaker’s list, and let County Council hear your support for those Council members who will be fighting to take our economy in the direction of renewable energy and sustainability. These new Council members have all vowed and pledged to support our efforts to for a Green New Deal, to clean up our air and water, and to introduced legislation banning single-use plastics and dealing with our mounting recycling debacle. 

Along with Anita Prizio, we now have a solid caucus inside who will be fighting to protect our environment.

Following the swearing-in ceremony, on Thursday, January 2, 2020 there will be a party at McFadden ( 211 North Shore Drive, Pittsburgh, PA 15212) at 06:30 pm – 10:30 pm ET to celebrate.
